Riley Brown was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1997. She has a BoFA in drawing and painting with a minor in art history from UNT.
Riley's paintings and drawings investigate the self as a decorative object—and decoration as an extension of the self—using found materials such as stickers, glitter glue, crayons, tape, and anything else she can get her disgusting little hands on. She loves to dig around in other people's trash. She is equal parts artist and raccoon.
Riley draws inspiration from Lisa Frank, kawaii culture, children's craft kits, scene queens, and the clutter in her home. She revels in maximalism and unrestrained abundance.
